BIG PLANS @ SummerWorks - August 9th to 19th

posted 2 Aug 2012, 06:43 by fsr admin
Ensure the BIG PLANS team don't go hungry at Toronto's SummerWorks Festival. There's a few ways you can help:

1) If you're in Montréal, catch the BENEFIT DRESS REHEARSAL at Freestanding on Monday, August 6th @ 8pm!! (just 40 seats so RSVP to bigplans@freestandingroom.com ASAP... or catch the after party ~22:15)

2) If you're in Toronto during the festival (August 9th-19th)... SEE THE SHOW... you won't soon forget it! - facebook.com/137369469728552/ or bigplans.freestandingroom.com

3) If you're anywhere, send us some money via our INDIEGOGO CAMPAIGN: indiegogo.com/bigplans - credit card and paypal accepted!! we're looking to raise 2000 bones... so please do make a donation if you loved the show the first time around.

BIG PLANS premiered last November at Montréal's Freestanding Room with great spirit and to much acclaim. A dark comedy, based on the infamous Rotenburg Cannibal, who wanted just one thing: "a willing victim, to be slaughtered and then consumed.”  With only 6 rehearsals preceding 5 performances, we but wetted our appetites, so we applied to Toronto's SummerWorks Theatre Festival.

Lo and behold, the SummerWorks jury took the bate! Unfortunately, the same can not be said of all our grant submissions. Nonetheless, the BIG PLANS team (Jeremy Taylor, Tanner Harvey, Andy Trithardt, Karl Graboshas, Leni Parker, and Kaileigh Krysztofiak) are all hungry to bring such a strange and human show to our Torontonian neighbours, and shall march forth regardless of impecuniousness.

With your help, and full houses, we mightn't be left malnourished.
This bizarre and compassionate play and its fearless creative team are sure to entertain, challenge, and nurture the community at the SummerWorks, so we're pretty confident we can take care of filling some seats. If you can philanthropize us the rest of the way, we'll be cooking!

We're looking to raise $2000... that right, practically nothing!! If forty of you kind folks can grant us $50 we'll be back to the frying pan from the fire. Check out the cool perks that you'll recieve for donating 25, 50, 100, or 500 bones!!

These funds will finance the team's salary (4 days rehearsal plus 10 days performance), accommodation (well, more like eating budgets, thanks respective friendly hosts), and transportation (round trip from Montréal to Toronto).

Super many thanks for your generosity, hope your can make it out to the Festival, and bon appetit!

Gordon and Henry met on the internet; now their dreams can come true. Locked in Gordon’s apartment, they have one night, a frying pan, and big plans.

Playing in the round at the hyper-intimate Hub 14, BIG PLANS premiered after only six days’ rehearsal at the Freestanding Room, a comparable space in Montreal. This is an in-the-rough production: alive, raw, and ever reinvented before your eyes.
